TITLE: Translator Collaboration

INTENDED AUDIENCE: Translators Who Want to Improve Their Translation and
Writing Skills through Collaboration
ABSTRACT: This presentation will assess several ways translators could
collaborate in order to improve their translation and writing skills.
The first half of the presentation will introduce how a translation
company could be set up with in-house translators. It will cover what
the prerequisites are for starting such a company, what kind of working
environment needs to be created, and what kind of problems a company
could run into. General guidelines to avoid these problems will also be
investigated. The second half of the presentation will assess how
freelance translators could collaborate among themselves. The
participants will be divided into small groups and asked to discuss
issues that need to be considered to make this feasible. Each group will
then be asked to outline the key points from their discussion.
