Translating and Interpreting for the Automotive Industry
Speaker: Steven P. Venti
Steve will describe his experiences translating and interpreting in the Japanese automotive industry. The content of this presentation will include general background information about the Japanese automotive industry and how it is structured, a look at the processes through which automobiles are designed and manufactured, and the linguistic issues involved in translating and interpreting in this field.
Steve Venti has in the past been a member of the IJET-2000 operating committee and also of the JAT board of directors. He is also currently co-owner and regular contributor to the Honyaku mailing list. A longtime resident of Suzuka in Mie Prefecture, he now lives in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture.
