Eighth Annual JAT Contest for New and Aspiring Translators is Now Closed

The Eighth Annual JAT Contest for New and Aspiring Translators is now closed for entries. JAT received 35 valid entries for the Japanese-to-English division and 83 valid entries for the English-to-Japanese division.
From now on the entries will be judged in several stages in accordance with evaluation criteria set by the judging panel. Entries are anonymized during the judging period. We will assign an ID number to each entry and notify you of your ID number by e-mail. If you do not receive an e-mail by November 22 (Tue, Japan Time) please contact the Contest Committee.
The ID numbers and translations of the five finalists will be announced on the JAT website in early January 2012. The names of first and second place winners and finalists will be announced in early March, 2012.
Please note that the decision of the judges is final. No inquiries about judging processes, or appeals or contesting of the results will be accepted.
