I have worked in the Japanese-to-English translation industry for over 20 years as both an in-house translator and a freelancer. My focus is game localization and subtitle translation, but I also have extensive experience in localizing computer software and translating hardware/software-related documentation, Web sites, market studies, and ad copy. The extensive hands-on game experience I have accumulated ensures that I can deliver the most natural-sounding translations possible.
My prime objective is to write dialogue, system text, and other game-related text that is so natural, it is impossible to tell that it was translated in the first place! Among my most recent major projects that have been released, I worked on the team that localized "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes" for the English-speaking market. Other recent games I have worked on include "Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies" and "Bravely Default." I was also the main translator for Okami, one of the best-reviewed localized games ever. It was IGN's 2006 Game of the Year, and in its review, IGN said, "Capcom has somehow managed to create one of the best translations we've seen in a long, long time." Here are some links with more information about the game:
