My professional identity is defined by an unusual duality: a three-decade career within a major Japanese stock-market listed IT company, and a creative life as a published author of children’s fiction and short stories. This background allows me to offer a rare level of authenticity in Japanese-to-English translation. Having spent nearly 30 years navigating the complexities of Japan’s corporate and IT sectors, I possess an understanding of the social and linguistic nuances of modern Japan. This "lived experience" informs my literary work, ensuring that contemporary settings, social hierarchies, and cultural subtexts are captured with precision. With a Master’s Degree in Japanese Studies and JLPT N1 certification, I am now focusing on literary translation (fiction and children’s books) and non-fiction works on Japanese arts and contemporary culture. I prioritize a "writer-translator" approach, leveraging my experience as a published fiction writer to deliver English prose that is as aesthetically resonant as the original Japanese.
