バックグラウンド
Translating Japanese entertainment media is my niche, period. Subtitles and games, that's all I do. I take pride in capturing the essence of the Japanese source and delivering it to English-speaking audiences in a manner they can intuitively connect with.
I don't just translate; I localize and transcreate so that my work accurately reflects the meaning of the source text while sounding natural and entertaining in English. After all, the word "entertainment" is in my job description. That right there is the root of my cheeky localization motto:
"If it ain't entertaining, you're doing it wrong!"
With over seven years of experience studying, working, and living in Japan combined with a deep understanding of Japanese entertainment, language, and culture cultivated over 30-plus years, I bring both cultural insight and a writer's flair to every project. My clients know their subtitles and games are in capable, creative hands.
