JAT is now inviting contributions for the JAT Anthology Translator Perspectives 2025, published in celebration of JAT’s 40th anniversary. Submissions are welcome from both members and non-members, and may take the form of essays reflecting on translation, interpreting, or language-related themes.

The original deadline was Sunday, August 31, 2025, but to encourage broader participation, we have extended the deadline to Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

This year, as part of our 40th anniversary special edition, we are accepting a wide variety of contributions, including:

  • Short pieces (shorter than the usual essay format)
  • Poetry – including tanka, haiku, and senryu
  • Photo essays – standard-length essays (up to 600 words in English / 1,800 characters in Japanese) with or without photos

We warmly invite translators and interpreters to share your voices with society through this commemorative anthology. We look forward to receiving your submissions!
