Subtitles (movies, TV shows, and anime) and video games (computer, console, handheld, and mobile on all platforms)
I have worked in the Japanese-to-English translation industry for over 28 years as both an in-house translator and a freelancer. My focus is game localization and subtitle translation. The extensive hands-on experience I have in both subtitling and game localization ensures that I can deliver the most natural-sounding translations possible.
My projects include a growing list of titles, including subtitles for the following movies on Starz and the Criterion Channel: Mothra vs. Godzilla; Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster; Destroy All Monsters; and All Monsters Attack. My subtitle work currently streaming on Netflix is as follows: Cultivating the Seas: History and Future of the Full-Cycle Cultured Kindai Tuna and Tuna Girl.
My game translation experience includes character dialogue, in-game messages, user interfaces, manuals, guidebooks, product boxes/disc jackets specifications, press releases, and proposals for games in almost every genre. My credits can be viewed on Moby Games, the Internet Movie Database, and other sites. Please click here, here, and here for more information. I was also the main translator for Okami, one of the best-reviewed localized games ever. It was IGN's 2006 Game of the Year, and in its review, IGN said, "Capcom has somehow managed to create one of the best translations we've seen in a long, long time." Please contact me for a complete list of past projects.
