My specialties include the medical field and fiction, including video games, television shows, short stories, comic books, movies, computer games, poems, and songs. I've successfully translated several songs for publication so that the English lyrics could be sung just as naturally as the original Japanese lyrics. I've also translated my share of Webpages, resumes, marketing and business documents, instructional manuals, and technical documentation. Thanks to my strong background in both Japanese and English, the natural, flowing text I create doesn't read like a translation at all.

バックグラウンド

Graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Japanese and in linguistics. Obtained JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) Level 1 certification in 2001. JAT member since 2002; served on its Board of Directors (chiefly as membership officer) from 2005 to 2009 and as auditor from 2013 to 2017, then elected as auditor again in 2022. I truly enjoy translation, and I know my reputation rides on my results, so I always give it all I've got.
