Background

Began career as translator in 1990, after graduating from Monash University with a BA (Hons Jap) and spending a year studying Japanese on scholarship at Keio University's International Center. Worked as translator/interpreter for two years at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo, followed by a stint at PISA, a Saison Group subsidiary. Employed in-house by the Nomura Securities group from 1994 to 1998, first in Tokyo and then in New York. Have been working as a freelance translator since 1999, engaging in equity research and IR translation.
