About the workshop

In this hands-on workshop, we will translate and discuss as a group some of the key provisions of Japanese corporations' articles of incorporation. If you have any particular provisions you'd like to discuss, please feel free to email them to us in advance.

About the speakers

Sawako has a Japanese LLB and over 10 years experience translating in-house at one of Japan's biggest commercial law firms.

Sarah is a legal translator with a Masters in Japanese Interpreting and Translation and four years of experience working in house as part of the translation team at a major Tokyo law firm. She made the switch to freelance last year and, in addition to her freelance translation work, also teaches translation at Sophia University and Temple University.

Kyal has a masters degree in translation (MAJIT), has 8 years experience in legal translation (5 in-house and 3 running his own company), and is (seemingly eternally) 1 unit away from finishing his Australian JD.
