Ready to take the big leap to go freelance but not sure where to start? In this webinar, established freelance interpreter and translator Jim Patrick will present his soul-searching process of identifying “the why” and walk you through the “mind, money and business” to consider before and during this major career and life change. Both insightful and lighthearted, Mr. Patrick will also share some tips and productivity tools on time management, work/life balance and budget planning.

Presenter: Jim Patrick
Jim Patrick is a freelance Japanese/English conference interpreter and translator in the Washington, DC area with a focus on automotive, manufacturing, technical, military and diplomatic interpretation, as well as J>E patent translation.

Previously he interpreted in-house at Honda R&D Americas for seven years and worked in local government offices in Aichi, Japan on the JET Program for five years.

Mr. Patrick holds an M.A. in Japanese Translation and Interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and a B.A. in English Literature from Boston University. He is a former Administrator of the ATA Japanese Language Division.
