I’m a native English-speaking freelance translator and editor who specializes in music and audio-related technology.

Originally from Denver, Colorado in the U.S.A., I have worked in Japan for over three decades, both full-time in the Nagoya area for over 18 years since 1993, and as a freelancer (Chapman Creative Works) since 2012. I have an extensive background in music as well, from piano and violin lessons as a child, to composing and recording music and playing in bands as a teenager, to producing originals and designing sounds for pro audio as an adult.

I’ve done a wide range of translation and editing work in the music and audio domains, from owner’s manuals and reference manuals to product specification sheets to software user interfaces, as well as CSR reports and website blurbs for major musical instrument manufacturers.
