We are JATHUB—Yukari Watanabe, Yumeko Futaki, Shoji Miyata, Chizuko Kamei, and Yukari Takayashiki. JATHUB was established to take over and support events that do not neatly fit within existing SIG or RAC frameworks, previously organized by the Board.
As the translation and interpreting profession continues to grow more complex and diverse, we aim to promote meaningful connections in various forms and contribute—however modestly—to further energizing SIG, RAC, and JAT activities as a whole.
As our kickoff event, we are delighted to host an Online New Year Gathering, carrying on the spirit of the Board-hosted online year-end parties held in previous years.
While in-person events are always enjoyable, this online gathering offers a rare opportunity to connect with colleagues from around the world—from seasoned veterans to those new to the profession—whom you might not otherwise have the chance to meet.
Please feel free to join us with a drink of your choice, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, and raise a glass together!
Event Format
To encourage lively and comfortable interaction, the event will once again be held in breakout session format.
Each breakout room will be supported by a moderator to help facilitate smooth and welcoming discussions. Participants are free to move between rooms based on their interests.
As with last year’s year-end party, this event will be held in two sessions.
This year, however, we are offering a daytime slot (1:00 PM JST) and an evening slot (7:00 PM JST). We hope this will make it easier for members in North America to join Session 1 and those in Europe to join Session 2.
Of course, you are more than welcome to attend both sessions!
