Do you have questions you would like to ask about working in the translation industry? Or would you be willing to share your own experience and wisdom with your colleagues? If you are looking for a place to ask your questions and benefit from the collective wisdom of the JAT community, or if you would like to be part of the conversation, please register to attend our first ever Ask Anything Session.

Submit your questions when you register to attend and the moderator will do her best to ensure that as many questions as possible are answered by multiple attendees with a variety of different perspectives. In order to encourage frank conversation and open discussion, the meeting will not be recorded, so you can be completely anonymous in your asking and your answering.

No questions are off limits. Ask about anything you like: finding work, specialization, office set-up, CAT tools, work-life balance, etc.

Moderator’s Profile:

Sarah Bull

Sarah Bull has been a translator since graduating from the University of Queensland’s MAJIT program (Master of Arts in Japanese Interpreting and Translating) in 2007. In addition to her roles as a legal translation instructor at UQ and as a Senior Legal Translator and equity partner with TBSJ, one of the largest translation companies working only in Japanese and English, she has recently launched Translation Mavens: a podcast and online community for people in the Japanese/English translation industry. Having benefited greatly from the support of her colleagues throughout her career, Sarah is a firm believer in the value of community and the generous sharing of knowledge. She supports all initiatives that help translators feel more connected and supported so that they can get the most out of their translation careers.
