Abstract :

This seminar will focus only on some practical trainings for simultaneous interpreting based on the lectures provided by the lecturer in the past seminars. This workshop includes the way how to handle paper preparation for simultaneous interpreting. It also tries to give the participants some clues to successful simultaneous interpreting without paper as well. Participants are expected to do interpreting work before the audience in the semi-actual booth setting.

This workshop concludes a series of lectures & practical trainings onconsecutive & simultaneous interpreting by this lecturer.

Please prepare for your simultaneous interpreting the speech Aung San Suu Kyi - Nobel Lecture to be used in the workshop.

Lecturer: Prof. Noriko Saneyoshi, Professor Emeritus, Seisen University

Profile:

Prof. Noriko Saneyoshi has worked as a conference interpreter rendering simultaneous and consecutive interpreting services in different international conferences. She has also given lectures and trainings on consecutive and simultaneous interpreting to university students to enhance their communicative abilities. She was one of the founding members of the Department of Global Citizenship Studies in the University in 2001 and has published books on interpreting and the global citizenship studies as follows:
