Lightning talks are short, quick fire talks dedicated to a single topic or thought. They are a way to share something thought provoking in a snappy and simple format.
Maybe there’s a translation issue you’ve been burning to talk about, but it’s not enough for a 60 minute presentation? Or perhaps you just like the challenge of squeezing a lot of linguistic learning into a little? Whatever it is, if you’d like to give it a go, register for the event and then send us an email with your topic proposal to [email protected] by Sunday, September 11. Slides are not a requirement, but if you would prefer to have them, please limit to a maximum of three and send with your topic proposal email by the deadline.
Each Lightning Talk presenter will be given around 5 minutes to share their topic and after everyone has had a turn, there will be a chance to discuss what you heard and connect with friends and colleagues in a casual atmosphere.
The event is a great way to burn of the rest of the summer heat and connect with professional Japanese linguists in a fresh, fun way - all from the comfort of your own home.
