One essential step, common to all forms of writing no matter what the content or usage, is the step of rereading and revising.

Translators, checkers, and others involved in the process need to check and polish text before submitting it to their clients, so rewriting is an integral part of their job. But, recently, they are receiving diverse requests, some beyond mere translation and checking, to meet their client's level of expectations.

Revising means to take a step back, look objectively at what one has written, and polish the language so that it becomes a finished product suitable for the eyes of others. One needs to think from the perspective of the reader, and be one's own editor. By making your writing easier to read, the points you want to make will also come across more clearly. The workshop will give participants a chance to write something from scratch (in Japanese) and improve it through the rewriting process.

Paper will be provided but please bring pens, pencils, erasers, red pens or coloring pencils, and dictionaries.
