JATPHARMA Kansai Meeting - Pharma in Japan: From Doshomachi to the World

This JATPHARMA Kansai Meeting consists of the following 4 sub-events.

  • Tour of Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Historical Museum and round-table discussion at Headquarters of Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation (12:55 to 16:00 on 11/13)
  • Translation workshop by Rie Moriguchi and Lee Seaman and Felix CAT tool workshop by Ben Tompkins (16:40 to 20:30 on 11/13)
  • Networking dinner at TGIF's (20:45 to 22:45 on 11/13)
  • Meeting featuring presentation by Daisuke Yanase followed by networking and a tour of Doshomachi (9:00 to 16:00 on 11/14)

Purchasing Tickets and Attending

Registration closes at 18:00 on Monday, November 9 or when tickets sell out. Select the ticket(s) for the sub-event(s) you will attend. The paper version of the JAT Pharma Handbook is available for purchase. If you purchase a copy, we will give it to you at the first sub-event you attend. Description of Sub-events

Tour of Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Historical Museum and round-table discussion at Headquarters of Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation (12:55 to 16:00 on 11/13)

We will meet outside the Headquarters of Mitsubishi Tanaba Pharma Corporation (MTPC) at 12:55. Please eat lunch beforehand and arrive on time. Click here for directions.

This sub-event will take place in a corporate environment. You must wear a suit or other business-appropriate attire. We will tour the Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Historical Museum (田辺三菱製薬史料館).

After the tour, we will participate in a round-table discussion with employees of Tanabe R&D Service. The topics of the round-table discussion are 「製薬会社のこれからの翻訳ニーズ - 大型案件対応時の経験から」 and 「完成度の低い原稿への対応」. Please come prepared to discuss these topics in English or Japanese. We encourage you to submit questions and comments beforehand to [email protected].

Translation presentation by Rie Moriguchi and Lee Seaman and Felix CAT tool workshop by Ben Tompkins (16:40 to 20:30 on 11/13)

Registration opens at 16:40 in Room 3-B of ユーズ・ツウ in Umeda. Please arrive no later than 16:50 so we can begin on time. Dress casually or stay in what you wear to the preceding sub-event. Directions are here.

Networking dinner at TGIF's (20:45 to 22:45 on 11/13)

After the preceding sub-event, we'll go to nearby TGIF's for dinner and drinks. The address is 大阪市北区梅田2-1-18 富士ビル 2階. Please pay on your own.

Meeting featuring presentation by Daisuke Yanase followed by networking and a tour of Doshomachi (9:00 to 16:00 on 11/14)

Registration opens at 9:00. Go by 9:15 to 研修室E of 大阪産業創造館 so we can begin on-time at 9:25. Directions are here.

Wear casual, weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes. You may leave your suitcases in the room during the tour of Doshomachi. Be sure to bring your own lunch or order a bento from us by selecting that option after clicking "Order Now" above.
