Theme: What is Simultaneous Interpreting?

Speaker: Prof. Noriko Saneyoshi, Professor Emeritus, Seisen University
Prof. Noriko Saneyoshi has worked as a conference interpreter providing simultaneous and consecutive interpreting. She has also given lectures and training on consecutive and simultaneous interpreting to university students to enhance their communicative abilities. She was one of the founding mem bers of the the faculty of Global Citizenship Studies in the University in 2001 and has published the following books on interpreting and the global citizenship studies:

In the lecture, she will explain the work of interpreting in general including the differences between translation and interpretation, methods of consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, and the history of simultaneous interpreting.
Then, in the workshop, she will provide participants practical simultaneous interpreting training using the simultaneous interpreting booth set up at the venue.
