Ever felt like there must be a more efficient way to work your way through a document, or just wonder how others handle their own work? Do you have a system or sequence you follow? Do you research before, after, or during translation? Do you check and edit as you go, or do you save that for a second pass? Use specific resources or tools? Have a particularly effective way of parsing certain sentences or paragraphs?

Whether you’re just starting out or have 10 years’ experience, we all have our own style and rhythm, and so we all have lessons to share with each other. This is your chance to learn directly from others AND maybe give someone a helpful idea! All levels are welcome.

Speakers:

While not mandatory, all are encouraged to present their own process in either translation or interpretation. Please mention at time of RSVP whether you wish to present. Each presenter is expected to have roughly 15-20 minutes to either explain or demonstrate their work flow to the group and field questions, depending on the number of presenters. We will fit as many presentations in as time allows.

You may wish to bring your computer and any other tools you need to demonstrate your process. A projector and related equipment will also be made available, including a Windows computer for presentations if needed. Presentations can be in either English or Japanese.
