More than 200 monoclonal antibodies and other biopharmaceuticals have been approved in Japan. In 2004, biopharmaceuticals, including biosimilars, accounted for about one-fourth of all 138 items approved in the pharmaceutical category in the country. The development and marketing of biopharmaceutical products are certain to continue to increase. Come and join us as we visit biopharmaceuticals GMP facilities located in Port Island, Kobe. After visiting the facilities, we will visit their next-door neighbor Riken to take a look at the K (aka Kei) supercomputer.
