The Board has approved the establishment of a new special interest
group, JATHUB (Cross-Regional and Cross-Disciplinary Translation SIG).
For the past few years, events that did not fall into a specific field
or region—such as general networking gatherings—have typically been
organized by the Board, either with its budget or within a no-cost
framework. Recently, however, there has been a consensus that the Board
itself should not be responsible for event operations, and that such
activities are better led by SIGs and RACs. In light of this, the Board
has been reviewing its role in event management.
As a result, JATHUB was launched to take over and serve as a home for
these cross-cutting activities that the Board has supported over the
past several years. Going forward, JATHUB aims to function as a hub for
cross-regional and cross-disciplinary exchange, with both online and
in-person activities in mind. We sincerely look forward to working with
all of you in this new capacity.
