Message from President Saki Kamimura (in Japanese)
会員の皆様、いつもお世話になっております。理事長の上村です。
今年度は新たなSIG、アドボカシー分科会を設立し、「AIを用いた漫画の大量翻訳と海外輸出の取り組み」に関する意見書を発表しました。これは今までにない試みとして、我々の声をより広く大きな場所に届けられるようになったと思います。
こうした活動が実現できたのは、これまで当協会を支えてきた歴代役員の方々のご尽力と、会員の皆様の温かいご支援があってこそです。この場をお借りして、心より感謝申し上げます。
ただ、我々の業界はまだ多くの課題に直面しています。
会員の皆様の多様な声を反映するために、次期選挙にて立候補者を広く募集いたします。
特に、新しいアイデアをお持ちの方業界内の問題に取り組みたいという熱意をお持ちの方専門知識や経験を活かしたいと思っている方
（もちろんそれ以外の方々も是非）
理事会の一員として、一緒に業界の未来を考えてみませんか。一人でも多くの方の立候補をお待ちしております！

Message from Director Madelein Shimizu (in English)
As a JAT member for many years before becoming a member of the Board,
it felt like JAT was chugging along smoothly with very little effort
from me. I now know that this is thanks to the efforts of dozens of
volunteers who contribute their time and energy to ensure that the
organisation provides the support and opportunities to interact that our
members need.
I was appointed as Director of Professional
development due to my teaching experience and strong interest in helping
young translators and interpreters to build their careers. We want JAT
to be a welcoming space for people who are just starting out in their
careers, as well as those who are looking to branch out into different
fields to adapt to changes in the industry.
Working together with
JAT directors and auditors has been a pleasure and I am consistently
impressed by the dedication and enthusiasm shown by every person
involved in running JAT.
I would encourage anyone who is looking
to do something more, anyone who wants to contribute to the development
of our industry, to register as a candidate. Members of the Board can
contribute ideas, create events and projects, and help our organisation
to become even more effective, responsive, and beneficial for our
members.

Message from Director Yumeko Futaki (in Japanese)
皆様お世話になっております。法務・SIGリエゾンの二木です。今年は昨年と少し違う角度から、会員の皆様にご協力を呼び掛けられたらと思います。
実際に理事になってみて驚いたのは、JATの理事会が事務局を兼ねていたことです。
たとえば、類似団体のJTFには常勤職員3名からなる事務局があり、財務、広報、法務（官庁への届け出など）、
総会準備といった事務を担っています。しかし現在、私たちはかなりの仕事を自分たちでやらなければなりません。 だから「法務担当/legal
liaison」が存在しているのです。
もちろん、JATには「個人翻訳者の団体」としてのアイデンティティがあるので、法人会員を受け入れているJTFさんとは財政基盤が異なり、同様の組織運営はできません。
私も来年度で4年目、任期満了となるため、法務担当理事もどなたかに引き継がなければなりません。さまざまな業務を自ら担うかボランティアさんにうまく割り振り、将来的には事務局設立まで視野に入れられる方に入っていただけると、とても心強いです。
私が3年間ずっと裏方をやってきたのでそちらのアピールばかりしてしまいましたが、企画面でやりたいことがある方も大歓迎です！ 裏方としてがんばって支えます。
一緒にJATを支えてくださる方の立候補を心からお待ちしております。
