This year, the annual JTF Translation Festival focuses on an innovative theme — Define Your Blue Ocean Strategy — with 24 lectures by professionals in the translation field. Learn the needs, expectations and projections of end clients and translation company management and administration. Obtain advice on how to advance and expand your translation career in four sessions led by JAT members and a special guest speaker, and gain insight into translation education. Cap off the experience with 60-minute product presentations and chats with representatives of 35 translation-related companies.
JAT is sponsoring a full track of sessions targeting freelance translators. Ben Tompkins will talk about regulatory inquiries from the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency; Jeremy Angel, Ryosuke Sugano, Syra Morii and Lisa Hew will discuss the translator’s dilemma of whether or not to specialize; and Helen Iwata will regale us with her experience in translating children’s books. As JAT’s special guest, Derek Wessman will instruct us on how to maximize and expand the value of our translating expertise.

Hope to see many JAT members at the JTF Festival!
