TRAC is pleased to announce the details on our second meeting in Sendai on July 19th! This time, we’ll be holding a translation workshop split into two mini-sessions: one for Japanese to English, and another for English to Japanese. First, in the Japanese-English section, Ray Roman and Doug Durgee will guide you through selected Japanese passages which should offer a challenge to both new and seasoned translators alike. Next, Yukihiro Sato and Yukiko Fujimura will be on hand to go through selected English passages and help you render them in Japanese. In addition to more general passages, Ray and Yukihiro will be contributing passages from their own specialties: law and technical translation.

The passages will be provided to those that RSVP before the event. There will be basic refreshments available at the event and a networking dinner afterward. Please RSVP for the event and networking dinner by July 18 at TRAC.

Non-members and those living outside the Tohoku area are also highly encouraged to come and participate. We look forward to seeing you there!

Workshop leaders:
Ray Roman – J-E freelance translator specializing in legal and business documents.
Doug Durgee – J-E freelance translator specializing in automotive and development aid.
Yukihiro Sato – Currently a multilingual documentation administrator and lecturer for business and technical translation. Well experienced in technical translation.
