Fellow JAT members,
JAT’s 2026 Election has begun, and we encourage you to take part by running for a position on the board to help make JAT an even better organization.
To review how many positions are open, who is up for re-election, etc., please take a look at the initial announcement ( https://jat.org/news/2026_jat_election ). In a nutshell, we can elect up to 9 directors and 1 auditor in this year’s election.
This year, we held a "Meet the Directors and Auditors" Zoom session on Thursday, April 2, to share updates on the board's activities directly with our members.
We added two more sessions, one on Saturday, May 16, and the other on Monday, May 18. Each session run from 12:00 noon to 20:00 (Japan time), with directors taking turns to host open Zoom rooms throughout each session.
We thank you for all members who dropped in.
The candidacy registrations are accepted at https://jat.org/form/boardCandidacy.
* If you know a non-member who would like to run for auditor, please contact us at [email protected]
The candidacy declaration/registration period ends at 22:00:00 JST, May 29, and the campaign period starts at 00:00:00 JST, May 31. Each candidate needs to submit a Board Candidacy form including a Candidate Statement and 1 Endorsement. The Election Committee needs time to verify eligibility and endorsements, so we strongly encourage candidates to submit their candidate statement and endorsement as early as possible.
Candidate statements should describe why the candidate feels they would be a well-serving director/auditor and what areas of JAT they would like to support and improve. Endorser statements should (1) specify how long and in what capacity the endorser has known the candidate and (2) why the endorser feels the candidate is fit to support JAT as director or auditor. (Candidate/endorser statements can be in English (up to 300 words) or Japanese (up to 600 characters).
We remind you that candidates for director must have been JAT members in good standing for the entire year preceding the deadline for submitting candidate statements, and that endorsers must be members in good standing as of the date on which they submit their endorsement statements. We also request that endorsers send a brief e-mail to [email protected] confirming the names of each candidate they endorse. The Election Committee may follow up, if necessary.
The Election Committee hopes for an abundance of candidates and fruitful discussions leading up to the voting period.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Election Committee at [email protected].
