The IJET-31 Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that registration is now open! Join us in Fukuoka for JAT’s International Japanese-English Translation (IJET) conference, the ultimate annual event for translators and interpreters! This year’s theme "Crossroads in Kyushu ― 世界から九州に、九州から世界へ" promises informative presentations and plenty of opportunities for networking with colleagues.

洞察に満ちたエッセー集、翻訳者の目線2019はjat.orgウエブサイトに掲載され、ダウンロード可能になりましたことをお知らせします。
英日・日英の翻訳・通訳に携わっていると、日々無数の問題や難解に直面します。すぐに解決できるものもあれば、そうでないものも多々あります。インターネットは情報の宝庫ですが、検索方法や、得た情報を有効活用する方法を理解する必要があります。スキルの問題でもあり、思考態度の問題でもあります。 今年のアンソロジーには、他の翻訳者や通訳者がどのように問題に対処し、解決策を見出しているか、未だ対策を練っている課題についてなどを述べています。是非お読みになって、役立ててください。そして、来年には皆様ご自身の経験、体験談を寄稿してくださるよう願っています。

Contest Guidelines
This contest is open to anyone with less than total three years’ experience as a professional translator. JAT membership not required. Previous entrants (except winners) are welcome to enter again.
Join JAT and your translator colleagues in Fukuoka for IJET-31!
Where will you be on June 5 to 7, 2020? If you’re a translator, interpreter, language-oriented company employee, or otherwise involved in the translation and interpreting professions, we hope you’ll join the Japan Association of Translators (JAT) to learn, network, build your skillset, and exchange ideas at the 31st International Japanese-English Translation (IJET) Conference in Fukuoka, Japan. IJET will take place in Elgala Hall in the Tenjin area of central Fukuoka.
SIXTEENTH ANNUAL JAT CONTEST FOR NEW AND ASPIRING JAPANESE/ENGLISH TRANSLATORS
Seeking to encourage talented people to enter the translation field, JAT is pleased to announce its sixteenth annual Japanese <> English translation contest for new and aspiring translators. The actual passage to be translated is a real-life text—the sort of thing a working commercial translator might well be called upon to do.
